As temperatures soared in the city there was no place to go but up. Mt. Wilson might have seemed like a bad idea to some and, in fact, it must have been a bad idea to most. We saw not one other person on the trail from Red Box joining with the Kenyon-Devore trail to climb Mt. Wilson on one of the hottest days of the year. Who would have thought that we would be met with a glorious cloud cover and a gentle, caressing breeze to urge us on. It was the perfect day to be out especially if one could get above 5,000 ft. This is the magic of Southern California.
